Welded Wire Mesh & Wire Forming

How it is made
Straightened wires are laid in a grid and resistance-welded at every intersection on automatic machines, or bent into rings and frames and welded into cages and baskets on jigs. Parts are then galvanized, electropolished or coated.
What the process can do
Openings from about 3 mm (hardware cloth) to 150 mm; wire 0.5–6 mm; panels, rolls, bag cages, baskets and guards to drawing.
Best for
Rigid containment, guarding, baskets, bag cages and supports where strength and a square opening matter more than filtration accuracy.
Limits
Not a filtration medium; each weld is a corrosion point unless the part is stainless or coated after welding.
Design & ordering tips
Give opening, wire gauge and finish; for baskets and cages also give inner dimensions, load and operating temperature.
