How it is made
A pulsed laser removes metal hole by hole or cuts outlines from a CNC program, so patterns change with no tooling. Micro-holes are drilled by percussion or trepanning and cleaned of recast afterwards.
What the process can do
Holes from about 20 µm in foil to several mm in plate; positional accuracy of a few microns.
Best for
Flow restrictors, micro-hole discs, prototypes and parts too thick to etch.
Limits
Slower per hole than etching or punching for large open areas.

Specify hole size and tolerance, and flow-test when the part meters flow.
