How it is made
Media is folded on a blade or rotary pleater, often together with support mesh, then formed into a cylinder and welded or potted into end caps.
What the process can do
Pleat heights from a few mm to over 30 mm; stainless mesh, fiber felt and sintered laminates.
Best for
Cartridges and candles that need high flow and long service.
Limits
Stiff media crack if pleated too tightly; pleats can bridge with sticky solids.
