Electroformed Nickel Micro Sieve
- Family: Laboratory & Medical Mesh
- Standard: ISO 3310-3
Nickel grown on a patterned mandrel to make ultra-precise foils, sieves and screens. 5 products in the catalog are made with this process.
Nickel or nickel-cobalt is electroplated onto a conductive mandrel patterned with photo-resist; metal grows only where there is no resist. The foil is then peeled off, giving very precise, smooth holes.
Openings down to about 5 µm with ±2 µm tolerance; foils 0.01–0.3 mm.
Micro sieves, shaver foils, sugar centrifuge screens and nebulizer meshes.
Mainly nickel alloys; higher cost than etching.
Specify aperture tolerance and foil thickness.
