Hole and pitch: Hole diameter and pitch set the open area — e.g. Ø3 on 5 mm pitch ≈ 33 %.
Thickness: Holes are normally not smaller than the sheet thickness in steel.
Margins & sheet: Specify unperforated margins and sheet size for fabrication.
Materials
Standard supply is stainless steel 304, stainless steel 316/316L, brass, copper; the material column in the table and the drawing options show the exact grade for each size. Other alloys and finishes can be quoted to your drawing.
Fitting & Care
Bend parallel to the hole rows where possible to avoid cracking between holes.
Deburr the punch exit side when the sheet contacts filter cloth.
Common Mistakes
Specifying holes smaller than the sheet thickness, which breaks punches.
Forgetting margins needed for welding or fixing.
