Sintered Porous Metal Filter Disc & Cup is used for protecting sensors, pneumatic valves, nozzles and analytical instruments with small sintered porous discs and cups that are pressed, crimped or welded into fittings. ISO 4022 is the reference cited for it on drawings, datasheets and purchase orders.
What ISO 4022 Means for Sintered Porous Metal Filter Disc & Cup
The dimensions in the table below are supplied to suit ISO 4022. Where the standard sets requirements for the finished appliance, device or system, compliance testing of that assembly stays with its manufacturer; we supply the metal mesh part to the drawing and can provide material certificates and dimensional reports with the shipment.
Equivalent Standards
ISO 4022 defines permeability testing of sintered permeable metal media.

Specifying Sintered Porous Metal Filter Disc & Cup Beyond the Standard
- Diameter & thickness: Match the fitting bore or seat; tolerance on diameter decides whether it press-fits or needs a weld ring.
- Micron rating: 2–60 µm; finer ratings cost flow, so specify the allowable pressure drop.
- Powder: SS316L for corrosion and heat; bronze CuSn10 for low-cost pneumatic duty in dry air.
When Sintered Porous Metal Filter Disc & Cup Is Not the Right Choice
Not suited to high-flow or high-dirt-load duty, where a sintered tube or cartridge gives far more filter area.
