Five-Layer Sintered Mesh (ISO 4022) is used for rigid, cleanable surface and depth filtration from five layers of woven stainless wire mesh diffusion-bonded into one sintered wire mesh laminate.
Also known as: sintered wire mesh, sintered metal mesh, sintered metal filter, sintered filter, sintered mesh laminate
Micron rating: Absolute ratings of about 1–100 µm set by the filter layer.
Thickness & strength: Standard laminate is about 1.7 mm and withstands back-wash pressure.
Form: Sheets, discs, cylinders, cones and welded elements.
Materials
Standard supply is stainless steel 316/316L, Monel 400, Inconel 600; the material column in the table and the drawing options show the exact grade for each size. Other alloys and finishes can be quoted to your drawing.
Fitting & Care
Weld with matching filler and inert backing so the filter layer is not damaged near the seam.
Clean by back-washing, ultrasonics or controlled burn-off.
Common Mistakes
Bending the laminate tighter than its minimum radius, which delaminates layers.
Leaving edge gaps in holders, causing bypass.
When Five-Layer Sintered Mesh Is Not the Right Choice
Not economical as a throw-away filter; disposable media are cheaper for one-time use.
Five-Layer Sintered Mesh is stocked and supplied to order in rolls, cut sheets and fabricated pieces. Pricing starts from approximately US$60.00 per unit for standard specifications in stainless steel 304; final pricing depends on specification, alloy, quantity and fabrication (MOQ applies).
