Titanium Mesh & Expanded Titanium (ASTM B265 / ASTM F67) is used for building electrodes, anodes, current collectors and corrosion-proof screens from expanded and woven titanium mesh.
Also known as: titanium mesh, titanium expanded metal mesh, expanded titanium, titanium anode mesh
Form: Expanded titanium for rigidity, woven titanium for fine openings.
Grade: Gr1 for forming and electrodes, Gr2 for strength.
Coating: Bare, platinized, or MMO (iridium/ruthenium) for anode duty.
Materials
Standard supply is stainless steel 316/316L; the material column in the table and the drawing options show the exact grade for each size. Other alloys and finishes can be quoted to your drawing.
Fitting & Care
Degrease and acid-etch before coating so the coating bonds.
Weld only under argon to avoid embrittlement.
Common Mistakes
Welding in air, which makes joints brittle.
Using bare titanium as an anode, which passivates.
When Titanium Mesh & Expanded Titanium Is Not the Right Choice
Not for hydrofluoric acid or dry chlorine gas, which attack titanium.
Titanium Mesh & Expanded Titanium is made to order as finished parts. Indicative pricing starts from about US$65.00 per piece for a standard size at production quantity; the final price depends on size, material, finish, tooling and order volume. What is Titanium Mesh & Expanded Titanium used for?
Building electrodes, anodes, current collectors and corrosion-proof screens from expanded and woven titanium mesh.
Why use titanium mesh?
It resists seawater and chlorides and is the base for coated anodes.
Expanded or woven titanium?
Expanded is rigid; woven gives fine openings.
Can titanium mesh be platinized?
Yes, or coated with mixed metal oxides.
What is the specification range of Titanium Mesh & Expanded Titanium?
The table on this page lists 4 standard specifications for Titanium Mesh & Expanded Titanium, from Expanded 1 u00d7 2 to Woven 40-Mesh. Specifications outside the table — custom mesh counts, wire diameters, roll widths and fabricated pieces — can be quoted on request.
How do I request a quotation?
Use the parametric drawing on this page to set the exact configuration (specification, material, treatment) and click "Request this configuration" — a specialist from custommetalfilters.com will respond within one business day.
