Vibrating Screen Mesh (Crimped) manufactured to ISO 4783 crimped follows the specification table reproduced on this page. The standard fixes geometry and tolerances; alloy chemistry and testing are assigned by their own companion documents.
ISO 4783 crimped — Scope
ISO 4783 crimped specifies the designation system, dimensions and tolerances of vibrating screen mesh (crimped) — mesh count or nominal opening, wire diameter and the permissible aperture deviations. Alloy chemistry, mechanical testing and delivery condition are governed by separate documents in the same standards family.
Tolerance Classes
ISO 4783 crimped defines tolerance limits on the average aperture and on the maximum single aperture, tightening as the aperture gets finer. For test-sieve duty the tighter ISO 3310-1 tolerances apply instead of the general cloth tolerances — specify sieve grade explicitly if the mesh will be used for particle-size analysis.
Specifications Defined by ISO 4783 crimped
| Aperture (mm) | Wire diameter (mm) | Crimp type | Material | Typical duty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0 | 0.8 | Crimped before weaving | 65 Mn / SS304 | Quarry & aggregate |
| 3.0 | 1.6 | Crimped before weaving | 65 Mn / SS304 | Quarry & aggregate |
| 6.0 | 2.5 | Crimped before weaving | 65 Mn / SS304 | Quarry & aggregate |
| 12.0 | 3.2 | Crimped before weaving | 65 Mn / SS304 | Quarry & aggregate |
| 25.0 | 5.0 | Crimped before weaving | 65 Mn / SS304 | Quarry & aggregate |
| 50.0 | 8.0 | Crimped before weaving | 65 Mn / SS304 | Quarry & aggregate |
Equivalent Standards
Where direct equivalents exist (ISO ↔ ASTM ↔ DIN), they are listed on the parent Vibrating Screen Mesh (Crimped) page. Confirm against the specification table on this page — nominally equivalent documents can differ in tolerance limits.
When to Specify ISO 4783 crimped
Choose ISO 4783 crimped for international procurement and OEM supply where ISO documents are the contractual reference. It is the default modern specification for vibrating screen mesh (crimped).
