Air Jet Sieve is used for measuring the fine fraction of powders below 100 µm on air jet sieving machines, where a rotating slit nozzle blows the powder off the sieve while a vacuum pulls the fines through. ISO 3310-1 is the reference cited for it on drawings, datasheets and purchase orders.
What ISO 3310-1 Means for Air Jet Sieve
The dimensions in the table below are supplied to suit ISO 3310-1. Where the standard sets requirements for the finished appliance, device or system, compliance testing of that assembly stays with its manufacturer; we supply the metal mesh part to the drawing and can provide material certificates and dimensional reports with the shipment.
Air Jet Sieve Dimensions
| Aperture (mm) | Frame diameter (mm) | Frame height (mm) | Wire diameter (mm) | Mesh count | Frame |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.020 | 200 | 25 | 0.020 | 635-Mesh | SS304, air-jet seal |
| 0.045 | 200 | 25 | 0.032 | 325-Mesh | SS304, air-jet seal |
| 0.063 | 200 | 25 | 0.045 | 230-Mesh | SS304, air-jet seal |
| 0.090 | 200 | 25 | 0.063 | 170-Mesh | SS304, air-jet seal |
Specifying Air Jet Sieve Beyond the Standard
- Aperture: 20–90 µm cloth to ISO 3310-1.
- Frame: 200 mm frame with the air-jet sealing face that fits the machine.
- Certificate: Inspection or calibration certificate for audited labs.
When Air Jet Sieve Is Not the Right Choice
Not for coarse samples above about 200 µm, where shaker sieving is quicker.
