Industry standard (V-wire) is the governing standard for wedge wire screen panels. This page sets out the scope of the document, reproduces the full specification table, and lists the ISO/ASTM/DIN cross-references cited in datasheets and purchase orders.
Industry standard (V-wire) — Scope
Industry standard (V-wire) specifies the designation system, dimensions and tolerances of wedge wire screen panels — mesh count or nominal opening, wire diameter and the permissible aperture deviations. Alloy chemistry, mechanical testing and delivery condition are governed by separate documents in the same standards family.
Tolerance Classes
Industry standard (V-wire) defines tolerance limits on the average aperture and on the maximum single aperture, tightening as the aperture gets finer. For test-sieve duty the tighter ISO 3310-1 tolerances apply instead of the general cloth tolerances — specify sieve grade explicitly if the mesh will be used for particle-size analysis.
Specifications Defined by Industry standard (V-wire)
| Slot opening (mm) | Wire profile (mm) | Support rod (mm) | Open area (%) | Tolerance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.05 | V-profile 1.5 x 2.5 | Rod 3 x 5 | 8 | Slot tolerance u00b10.02 |
| 0.10 | V-profile 1.5 x 2.5 | Rod 3 x 5 | 12 | Slot tolerance u00b10.02 |
| 0.25 | V-profile 2.2 x 3.0 | Rod 3 x 5 | 18 | Slot tolerance u00b10.03 |
| 0.50 | V-profile 2.2 x 3.0 | Rod 3 x 5 | 25 | Slot tolerance u00b10.05 |
| 1.00 | V-profile 3.0 x 5.0 | Rod 5 x 8 | 33 | Slot tolerance u00b10.05 |
| 3.00 | V-profile 3.0 x 5.0 | Rod 5 x 8 | 50 | Slot tolerance u00b10.10 |
| 6.00 | V-profile 3.3 x 6.0 | Rod 5 x 8 | 60 | Slot tolerance u00b10.10 |
Equivalent Standards
Where direct equivalents exist (ISO ↔ ASTM ↔ DIN), they are listed on the parent Wedge Wire Screen Panels page. Confirm against the specification table on this page — nominally equivalent documents can differ in tolerance limits.
When to Specify Industry standard (V-wire)
Choose Industry standard (V-wire) for international procurement and OEM supply where ISO documents are the contractual reference. It is the default modern specification for wedge wire screen panels.
