Spin Pack Filter Disc in 304 Stainless Steel (AISI 304 (1.4301)) is used for filtering polymer just before the spinneret in synthetic fiber spin packs with small multi-layer rimmed mesh discs, catching gels that would break filaments. The alloy gives good general corrosion resistance in atmosphere and fresh water and is essentially non-magnetic (annealed), with a practical service limit of approx. +450 °C continuous.

Where 304 Stainless Steel Spin Pack Filter Disc Is Used
- Polyester (PET) fiber: FDY, POY and staple spin packs.
- Nylon & polypropylene: BCF carpet yarn and nonwoven spin packs.
- Technical fibers: aramid, spandex and high-tenacity yarn.
- Meltblown nonwovens: die filters.
Ordering Spin Pack Filter Disc in 304 Stainless Steel
- Shape: Round or annular discs to fit the pack body.
- Layer build: Graded mesh layers, sometimes with sintered or fiber-felt layers.
- Rim: Aluminum, stainless or welded double rims for a reliable seal.
Mistakes to Avoid with Spin Pack Filter Disc
- Re-using discs between pack changes, which releases trapped gels into the filaments.
- Putting the fine layer on the upstream face, where it blinds within hours.
