316L Stainless Steel Espresso Filter Basket (Precision Perforated)

Close-up of a 58 mm stainless steel precision espresso filter basket, top-down angle

Espresso Filter Basket (Precision Perforated) in 316L Stainless Steel (AISI 316L (1.4404)) is used for holding and evenly extracting the coffee puck in an espresso portafilter through a precision-perforated, uniform hole field. The alloy gives superior resistance, including chlorides, brines, food CIP and mild acids and is essentially non-magnetic, with a practical service limit of approx. +550 °C continuous.

Where 316L Stainless Steel Espresso Filter Basket (Precision Perforated) Is Used

  • Espresso machine OEMs: single, double and pressurized baskets packed with home and commercial machines.
  • Barista accessory brands: precision upgrade baskets for 58 mm prosumer machines.
  • Café service & repair: replacement baskets that restore consistent shots on worn group heads.
  • Coffee competitions & labs: tight-tolerance baskets for repeatable extraction research.

Ordering Espresso Filter Basket (Precision Perforated) in 316L Stainless Steel

  • Diameter & depth: Match the portafilter: 51, 54 or 58 mm, and a depth that suits the dose so the screen does not imprint the puck.
  • Hole size & count: Precision baskets hold 0.28–0.30 mm holes within a few microns over the whole floor; pressurized baskets use one exit hole.
  • Spring groove: Specify the retaining-spring groove position for the portafilter brand or the basket will fall out when knocking.

Mistakes to Avoid with Espresso Filter Basket (Precision Perforated)

  • Overdosing a basket — the puck touches the shower screen, cannot expand and channels.
  • Using a pressurized basket with freshly ground specialty coffee; it masks the grind and caps flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are precision espresso baskets more expensive?

Every hole is held to a tight size and position over the floor, so flow is even and shots repeat. Standard pressed baskets vary more hole to hole.

How do I know my espresso basket needs replacing?

Clogged or enlarged holes, a deformed floor or a loose spring groove. Uneven extraction on a naked portafilter is the usual clue.

How do I request a quotation?
